We are celebrating! It’s the final day of my daughter’s Constraint-induced Movement Therapy (CIMT program). We are so proud of her. She has worked so very hard for one full month and has tolerated having a cast on her “typically functioning” arm the entire time.
There has not yet been research done to assess CIMT for babies, but it seems to me that the program has worked very well for my daughter. We will definitely repeat it again next year.
Today, the team is constructing a new custom “take-away” cast for at-home use. We are instructed to place it on our daughter’s arm for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, and then engage her in play-based activities. Once she outgrows it, we’ll visit our local hospital to have them construct a new one.

Thank you so much to the amazing CIMT Team, especially to Ruth who never held back on showing an endless amount of love to our little one!
