We’re close enough to the finale of our CIMT program in Manchester, UK that I can fairly say it has been a big success. On Friday, I will share some amazing before and after videos. It is evident that my daughter has improved range of motion in her left arm. She is also more balanced when sitting which is likely due to increased awareness of the weak side of her body. She’s using her left hand more and having fun while doing it.
Yesterday, we surrounded my daughter with bright orange balloons in the playpen. Today, we repeat some of the activities we have frequently done in the past (documented in this CIMT blog series), and we try a couple of new ones.
This time, we surround her with multi-colored plastic balls which help to support her while she practices sitting. There are many colors and so it’s not exactly visually accessible to her Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) needs, but it’s a new activity that captures her interest and gets her to work her weak arm (which is our primary goal).
